How to become Popular at College
Most of the students entering college like you have a desire to be popular somehow. You want everyone to know them and like them. The first year is very important because it will determine what type of student you will be. As college students build relationships with other college students and professors, they will become more well known on campus. Becoming well know is only half the battle, the other half is leaving others with a positive impression after meeting you. Trust me you can NOT even think of getting popular by drinking and smoking weed. You don’t have to be a ‘bad guy’ in order to be popular, you have to earn respect for yourself.
- BE FRIENDLY: You must be polite with every single student! If you want to become popular at college and want people to be nice to you, you can not afford to be harsh with them no matter who they are. One bad impression can ruin everything for you. People are naturally attracted to others who smile a lot and are positive, so no matter how down you get try to smile at others and greet them. Always be positive since people always like an optimistic personality. Never talk bad about the people EVER! even if they are not present as they will not appreciate hearing about it from someone else. Listen and Talk to people and help them out if they have ANY kind of problems.
- BE ACTIVE: If you really want to be popular you MUST participate in all sorts of activities going around in the college. All colleges have NUMEROUS activities and you need to attend the most you can. Join clubs and organisations as it is a great way to meet new people and make friends. The most friends you have or in other words the more people you impress the more popular you get! There are many other ways such as going to parties. Parties are probably a better way to interact with other students since students are in a more relaxed atmosphere at the parties and more open to social interaction.
- BE INTELLIGENT: You probably think getting good grades makes you UNPOPULAR at college. You’d be very surprised to know that it is in fact the other way around. Firstly if you don’t get good grades there’s a chance that you’ll drop out of college and everything goes down the drain when that happens. Secondly there are many study groups in colleges. Being intelligent helps you gain popularity since you can help many other students in or outside your study group.
Becoming a popular student is perhaps easy at school but college is a larger society and thus fulfilling your desire of becoming popular at college maybe an arduous task but I guess if you follow the tips I have mentioned above you may become an extremely popular student!
Good Luck!

College is an outcast last chance. You have more of a chance of making friends in college than high school, b/c all of the rift raft, no-goal oreinted folks have been weeded out.
